Adopt A Boxer
Rescue held it's Annual Meeting on April 19, 2008, from Noon to 6PM, at
the Radisson Hotel, King of Prussia, PA.
Under discussion
at this year’s meeting was how to get and train new foster homes, adoption
application administration, adoption follow-ups, foster/volunteer safety,
medical treatment authorization, new on-line foster dog update forms, database administration, and discussion
of our first ever Golf Fundraiser and Flee Market, and of course our past year’s
accomplishments.
We’ve
had a very successful year, in no small part due to the great group of
volunteers that work tirelessly each day to care for and re-home these
boxers. We couldn’t do it without them.
And we thank you
for your contributions, offering your help and advice, and helping us help the
dogs. We hope we have earned your support.
On
July 14, 2007 after attending Broadway
Barks 9, in Shubert Alley , NYC,
Adopt A Boxer
Rescue had a very successful meeting in New York City. Volunteers
came from all over the northeast and we discussed future plans and events,
and our past year's accomplishments.
On Sunday, April 6th,
2006, Adopt A Boxer Rescue had a very successful meeting in New York City at the offices of the NYC Mayor's Alliance...
440 Ninth Avenue between 34th and 35th Streets.
We really appreciate their hospitality
in letting us borrow their facilities for our meeting. I am happy to
report that we had a very successful and well attended meeting.
Under discussion
at this year’s meeting was how to get and train new foster homes, adoption
application administration, adoption follow-ups, foster/volunteer safety,
medical treatment authorization, database administration, and discussion
of our upcoming auction and boxer fest, and of course our past year’s
accomplishments.
We’ve
had a very successful year, in no small part due to the great group of
volunteers that work tirelessly each day to care for and re-home these
boxers. We couldn’t do it without them.
And we thank you
for sticking by us, offering your help and advice, and helping us help the
dogs. We hope we have earned your support.
On Sunday, March 6th,
2005, Adopt A Boxer Rescue had a very successful, and well attended
meeting in Harriman, NY.
Under discussion
were the following items; adoption application administration, adoption
follow-ups, rescue transport, foster/volunteer administration, grant
writing, database administration, and discussion of our upcoming
newsletter, brochure, and auction.
We reviewed our
last three months of operation and the great response to our first
fundraiser. Highlights for AABR were of course the number of rescues made
and dogs placed considering the hurdles of being a new rescue. The
recognition we continue to receive from rescue associations, the press,
and our peers is very gratifying. And the continued contribution of
medical treatment from Meadow Veterinary Hospital of White Plains, kennel
space from Country Pets Boarding & Grooming in Hunlock Creek, PA and Bal
Moral of White Plains, NY, and the contribution of all the great foster
homes that continue to offer shelter, food, training and love to these
great dogs, has been awesome.
And of course you, the wonderful
families that adopted these amazing dogs from us, and have become part of
the AABR family, have been fantastic!
The enthusiasm of
our volunteers is reflected in the number of Adopt A Boxer Rescue
Awareness days we’ve had, and AABR volunteers and dogs appearing twice on
network TV shows.
Meeting attendees
were updated on the progress of some of our medical patients like
Marshall, .Paisley and Billy, and plans were mapped out for fundraising
efforts needed to continue our mission of treating dogs with extensive
medical problems.
Our first edition
of Boxer Shorts, AABR’s newsletter, will be coming out shortly,
(pardon the pun = ), an AABR brochure is being worked on, and you’ll be
hearing more about our upcoming auction, in the next few weeks.
All in all, we’ve
had a very successful start, in no small part due to the great group of
volunteers that work tirelessly each day to care for and re-home these
boxers. We couldn’t do it without them.
And we thank you
for sticking by us, offering your help and advice, and helping us help the
dogs. We hope we have earned your support.
