Finally, after almost 2 weeks of having Cookie I got a great BOXER WIGGLE
this morning when I took her outside. She must have realized I would never
hurt her and finally is beginning to feel safe with me.
Cookie needs a home that is ever so patient and willing to give her time
to settle in again. It will be so worth it when she settles in and trusts.
If you can give Cookie a loving gentle home please tell AABR you will show
her how her life should have always been. Cookie would do best in a home
with no children and would enjoy a fenced in yard and another male Boxer.
02/15/06 -
Cookie is one of the sweetest Boxers I have met. The people who had
her did not tell us this lovebug is deaf. She follows me with her eyes
everywhere I go! She is well adapted to her loss of hearing.
Cookie is getting used to living in a house for what we think is her
first time being in a home. She is doing well asking to go out when she
needs to and loves snuggling on her big soft bed.
She was a victim of some hate crimes on a PA shelter, sprayed by some
chemicals but she is doing fine. Her skin is healing nicely and she is
opening up. She is definitely shy and needs a patient and very gentle
person to allow her to trust us humans again.
She is gaining weight steadily and loving her food. She is crate trained
and walks very well on a leash. Cookie must go to a home with a securely
fenced in yard and no children under 10 years old.
Please make room in your home and heart for Cookie.

Rescue Shelter in PA -
Victim of Hate Crimes! |
 It
has been reported to us that the shelter manager's home of Faithful But Forgotten Friends
Animal Rescue and Placement Inc located in Hibbs, PA, was set on fire, after numerous other incidents of terrorizing staff and animals
went un-aided by local enforcement.
 "We
appealed to local and county officials and all law enforcement departments
and agencies (including the county District Attorney) in the area. No one
responds. The police do not investigate."AABR will be taking in two
Boxers that were victims of this hate crime, even before the shelter was
burned down. They were believed to have been sprayed by some sort of caustic
material which burned their fur and skin.
We will update when we know more. |
