5/8/12 Rosco was
welcomed into his new foster home on 5/5/12. Rosco is a well behaved and
mannerly 6 year old boy. He had been returned to the rescue from a family in
Connecticut where he was no longer wanted by his owner’s wife, who never
bonded with this precious boy - even after being with him for more than 5
years. Rosco’s owner made the very sad trek to Pennsylvania, where he left
him with some goodbyes and some tears. Rosco’s owner said giving him up was
the hardest thing he had to do.
Words cannot express how good Rosco has been since arriving at his new
foster home. He seemed to really miss his owner because he whimpered softly
in the car. After the initial excitement of meeting his new foster sister
and family, Rosco sat staring out the window of the door, whimpering and
waiting for his owner to come back for him. To help Rosco with his
transition, we bombarded him with affection and reassured him that he is a
good boy. He was glad to return this with traditional boxer wiggles and
kisses.
Rosco is gentle, loves to give kisses, and melts your heart with his
beautiful warm chestnut colored eyes that match his soft dark brindle coat
and flashy chest. He and his new foster sister get along great and enjoy
each other’s company. They run around together in the yard and enjoy a treat
or two after play time. Rosco goes for walks on the leash and is happy to
walk right alongside his foster daddy without pulling or straying away.
Rosco has not had one accident in the house. He respects his new home and
does not try to take anything that does not belong to him and has not
engaged in any type of counter or table surfing. Rosco is really a low-key
kind of guy that just wants to be loved and make his fellow humans happy.
Right now, Rosco is overweight. Unlike most dogs that come into the
rescue, we are making efforts to help him lose a little weight through diet
and exercise so he can enjoy himself more without tuckering out. Rosco also
has a skin condition that was identified as seasonal alopecia, with possible
allergies, so we are doing our best to investigate this issue and help to
resolve it for him. Rosco’s skin does not seem to bother him as long as he
is given regular baths. Rosco is good with other dogs and it has been
reported that he is good with cats too. Rosco has not encountered many young
children in his foster home, so at this time Rosco is recommended for
families with kids over 8 and any change in that status will be updated
accordingly.
Rosco deserves to have a good home and a loving family that will welcome
him with open arms. After all he’s been through, he just wants to be able to
give and receive love from a human that will not desert or replace him
again. Are you the right family for Rosco?
4/1/12
Rosco is
coming back into rescue after being in his home for the past five years.
He has been living with a 6 year old female boxer and would love to find a
home with another low-key buddy to pal around with. Rosco is reported
to have allergies, which have been managed primarily through a good diet.
Rosco is friendly and gets along great with people. He doesn't realize
how strong he can be, so a home with older children may be best. Rosco
just wants to be loved. If you are looking for a boxer that will love
you unconditionally, then look no further - Rosco is your boy!
1/2007 - Adopted
1/07/07 - Meet Rosco
We went to the kennel today to take Rosco out for a walk and to take some
pictures. What a good boy he is. Everyone there wishes that they can take
him home. He is such a handsome boy! Mostly all brindle with just a little
bit of white.
Rosco came from a very good home who took super good care of him and it
shows. Due to a divorce, he was turned over to boxer rescue. He just loves
everyone he meets. He seems to be housebroken but he can use some leash
training. This boy did not want to get back in that kennel when we brought
him back but did so reluctantly when he knew that was what he had to do.
He seems rather sad to be at the kennel. Won't you please open your heart
and home to this sweet boy and give him a foster or forever home. He has
recently been neutered and is all ready to go! |
