Rocky 3 joined our foster home about 2 weeks ago, and my oh my is he a joy. He is doing just beautifully here. He is getting along well with everyone and everyone here is a lot to get along with. We have a total of 5 dogs here including 3 AABR fosters Eve, Rosie, and of course Rocky 3. He has been introduced to a cat, which went very well. He seems very interested in our resident feline, but in a curious way NOT an "oh look lunch" kind of way. The cat shows no fear around him either, and that speaks volumes. He is completely housetrained, and crate trained, though he does cry a little when I leave, but it doesn't seem to last long once he knows I'm really gone. His manners are very good, though he could use a little work on lie down. It's been brutally hot so we have not done much in the way of leash walking. A little practice & I think he'll be super. He is about as sweet and lovable as a boxer boy can be, and darn handsome to boot. He sometimes gets a little excited when he plays with Eve, or is getting some TLC from me, but settles pretty quickly when told to do so. I really can't think of one bad thing to say about this boy. He's really just a great dog. Do yourself a favor and get your application in now. You do not want to miss out on our boy Rocky 3. If your the lucky family that gets to bring him home you'll feel like you just hit the jackpot, and you'll be right!!!

6/19/08 -  Rocky 3

Rocky is a 4 year old fawn male who was surrendered to the shelter because his owners were moving. Rocky has natural ears and a natural tail. The shelter reported that he did well with other dogs there and he did not seem to mind the cats he met either. Rocky walks well on a leash and is very responsive to people. Apply today to foster or adopt this handsome boy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
