is doing great. Don't overlook this great fun lovin guy who just
needed a little time to get past being left at the shelter by the only
family he ever had.
We had him examined at Penn State Vet Hospital and he has no TMJ or
mouth problems at all, and he is on Rymadly for hips and runs like any dog.
This is one sweet boy who will thrive on daily walks and with a
wants everyone to know that he is going on a one-week boat cruise on the
Chesapeake Bay with his foster family! He says he is excited and really
looking forward to it! By the way, he is doing great!
Bandit and Mia, his foster fur-sister, have been playing together a lot
lately. For the longest time, he just didn't really "play," and would get
annoyed with her when she wanted him to, but now he even initiates play!! He
also has been swimming (sort of). Funny story from his foster mom, we were
anchored out with friends who also have dogs. Their dogs are real swimmers
(one is a lab). They jump right off of their boat and even climb up the
ladder to get back on. Bandit was so excited when he saw them jumping into
the water that he jumped right off the boat! Scared me, but he did have his
swimmies on. He went under and then popped back up. We fished him out. He
has been swimming since then off the beach, but hasn't jumped off the boat
again. I am hoping to get him swimming more on our cruise. I think it
is helping his hips. Are you looking for a Skipper...Bandit is your guy!!!
foster mom reports that he loves people and is always a perfect gentleman.
He is a very laid back dog most of the time, is very adaptable, and just
goes with the flow. He spent his first weekend on our boat and seemed to be
perfectly happy to hang out. Check out his pictures :) Do you have room in
your heart and home for this awesome guy!?
is doing wonderfully in his new foster home -- they say he is just the
sweetest boy around. Although he may have hip dysplasia, you might not know
it. Many dogs have hip dysplasia and you wouldn't even know it because they
have the right amount of exercise to keep their muscles strong. His foster mom reported that she found him on her bed the other day, so
he must be feeling good to jump...but what Boxer doesn't like to
snuggle in bed! Bandit likes to go for walks and is doing very well with his
foster sister. When his foster dad comes home from work, he is all Boxer
wiggles and beans! Apply for this great boy today!
Bandit is a handsome 5 year old male boxer who was surrendered to the
shelters by his owners due to health issues. Bandit has been diagnosed
with Grade 2 Hip Dysplasia. On the hard floors in the shelter he is slow to get up, but once up - he is
quite playful. His owners also reported that Bandit had a difficult
time opening his mouth. Their vet diagnosed him with TMJ. Bandit
is doing well at the shelter and doesn't have signs of TMJ and eats just
The volunteers at the shelter indicate that Bandit is a wonderful boy -
he is very playful and simply sweet. We are in urgent need of a foster
home for Bandit to go to so we can get him out of the shelter and into our
care. Once in foster, Bandit will be seen by one of our rescue vets to
determine what treatment is needed.
If you are able to foster Bandit, please apply today!!
