Coronavirus has disrupted our daily lives in unprecedented ways. Social distancing is absolutely critical to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on fragile health systems and protect those who are most vulnerable.
Although we are told that this virus does not affect our dogs, we must ensure that AABR and our volunteers are not the cause of spreading the virus to ourselves and others. We will not be doing home visits or transports until we have further guidance from officials. We are sure that you will understand and be patient with adding a new four legged friend to your family.
We will also have to curtail the intake of boxers to AABR. If you have a boxer you are in need of finding a new home, please please try to work around the situation and check back with us in a few weeks. Shelters are also closing and those that aren’t won’t be in any position to take in dogs without euthanizing others.
Although much is uncertain, we are in this together and there are preventive measures we can all take to help protect ourselves and one another. We strongly encourage you to visit the CDC’s website for information, updates, and resources. We each have a critical role to play in keeping each other safe.
