Blanca has had a rough past year and a half where the illness of her owner resulted in neglect of her physical and emotional health. When family members uncovered this, they attempted to help Blanca recover. They vetted her and attempted to get her to gain weight. She was no longer house trained and suffered from separation anxiety, and allergies and lost hair. She was also not welcomed by one of the resident family dogs so more crate time was her life.
They realized she required more than what they were able to do. We were very lucky to have an experienced and loving foster home step up to take her in. After a year of being crated and not often allowed out to do her business, she is now able to last about 3 hours with the fosters out of the house. They are working on extending that time, and we are working on determining if her allergies are food related. We really do have the best volunteers around!
We will update you on her progress as we go along.
Blanca is a 9 yr old female boxer who was surrendered to AABR when her owner passed away and the family could not care for her. Blanca just arrived at her new foster home. The foster family indicates she is an energetic girl who enjoys playing with toys. She is very friendly with adults, children, and other dogs. Like most boxers, Blanca loves to be close to her people during the day. It did not take her long to feel comfortable in her foster home. Blanca will see AABR’s rescue vet soon and we will update her page once we know more about her.
