We need to update you on this fantastic lady! She is a great girl, very sweet, DOG FRIENDLY AND SAVVY, and has been a pleasure to all of her fosters… I say that because due to summer vacations Charlotte is now in her second foster home and looking for her third…OR BETTER YET HER FOREVER HOME! Everyone who has fostered or even just met her, say what a well balanced girl she is. And aside from that, she has let her fosters know when she needs to go out, when she could use a little lovin, hints when it may be treat time, and gets enthusiastic when it’s time to go for a nice walk. She is a very active senior, so much so that she thinks we have guessed a bit on the high side on her age. (We’re pretty sure we did not, but she is doing her best to convince us ; )
So we need all our prior or potential adopters who have ever had a senior dog, to spend just five minutes thinking about what you would want for your senior dog, should you ever not be able to care for them. I propose that you will not get past minute one without the obvious conclusion that you would want Adopt A Boxer Rescue to find someone just like your family to give a forever home for your senior. The obvious next step would be to offer your home and love to a senior like Charlotte, for the next few years. Teach your family and friends what it actually means to rescue. There is always time to adopt a one to three year old in the future, but the time is now for Charlotte.
New Pic… Charlotte (L) with Daisy 3yo. Not sure who wore out who. LOL
This beautiful girl somehow lost her way. The animal shelter picked her up as a stray. They received a call about a dog sleeping in someone’s garden shed. When the animal control officer arrived at the scene she found sweet Charlotte curled up in the corner of the shed fast asleep. She was wearing a pink collar. Charlotte waited at the shelter for 7 days for her owner to claim her. No one showed up, so one of our volunteer’s got Charlotte out of the shelter as soon as her stray hold was up.
Charlotte is estimated to be between 10-12yrs old but don’t tell her that!! This girl enjoys exploring the backyard, giving kisses and taking cat naps on her dog bed. She also enjoys following her human around the house. She visited with both a male and female dog and had no issues, just investigating her surroundings and ignoring them. This distinguished lady is looking for a home to share her love and life with.
Please consider being this senior’s hero… Think about who might take care of your own senior dog if for some reason you could not… if not you, than who?
