It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Hercules, a strong and gentle soul. He was in the loving arms of his Mom and Dad when his time came.
Herc was 12 years old when surrendered in 2017. Vicky and Anthony were still mourning the loss of their last two senior boxers, and thought it was time to welcome a younger boxer to their home. Herc had no place to go, and was tied up outside his owners work place when our volunteer got there. Vicky and Anthony opened their home to Herc, and never looked back. Their hearts are broken. Herc will be dearly missed.

Due to health issues, Hercules will be remaining with his foster family.
One of our volunteers received a call from the shelter about a 12 year old senior that was being surrendered the very next day. The shelter gave our volunteer the owner’s contact info and he was called immediately. We knew we had to do everything we could to prevent this precious senior from having to go through the crowded New York shelter system.
Hercules’ owner was moving out of his apartment and Hercules had nowhere to go. He had lived with another dog his whole life until that dog passed away 2 years ago. Hercules had also lived with children. He is a sweet, gentle, and loving soul who wants nothing more than a warm bed and a family to love him. Our volunteers quickly went into crisis mode and found Hercules a foster home. He is now safe with Adopt a Boxer Rescue.
