Message for "Name a Dog" donation:
Holly was the first boxer we ever rescued from our local shelter. She was a "mill mamma" from Ohio. When Holly first came to us, she was already 5 years old & had many litters of puppies. She only knew how to be a mother, but she quickly found her silly boxer spirit and became a fun-loving dog! She was full of grace and sweetness. Unfortunately, Holly was stricken with lymphoma and despite chemo and all our love, we could not save her. We bought her some extra quality time, but Holly's life was cut way too short (she only lived to be 6 1/2.) Her legacy lives on because we love the breed and have adopted our Louie from AABR, who now fills our hearts with joy too. A special girl should have the honor of Holly's name.

The day after arriving at her foster home, Holly had to be taken to an emergency vet appointment. We discovered that both pressure sores in her rear legs were badly infected and had caused abscesses. Holly had to be hospitalized all week with drains in both legs. She has now been released from the vet and she has healed well. Holly has also been spayed and brought up to date on all vet care. We will make sure this beautiful girl is never neglected again. Holly is a petite girl, weighing only around 40 lbs. She is seeking a forever home that will give her all of the love and attention she has missed in the past. Holly would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She loves her people and has a wonderful temperament. Apply today to adopt Holly or please consider donating toward her vet care that she received.

We are celebrating Christmas in July with the arrival of Holly to AABR this weekend. This adorable girl was in need of rescue at a rural shelter. She is estimated to be around 5-6 yrs old and Holly did wonderful on her dog test at the shelter. We are guessing that Holly has been used for breeding in the past, but she will be spayed soon and is looking forward to a spoiled life in a home environment. Holly just arrived at her new foster home in Maryland. We will update her page once her foster mom gets to know her better.
