Please help us give a warm, loving AABR welcome to Honey. She is an 8 year old beauty whose name is absolutely fitting, as this girl could not possibly be any sweeter. Honey came to AABR when a vet asked us for help in finding her a new home. Poor Honey was left at the vet’s office when her owners moved south to find a new home, but they never came back for her. She had been a regular at the vet hospital’s daycare and was loved by the entire staff. They were all dedicated to helping find Honey a new home after she waited so long for her family to come back for her.
The vet’s office placed Honey into a home with a young female boxer and sadly it did not work out well. It seemed as though the resident boxer was not ready to share her home with another dog and took it out on poor Honey. She had to go back to boarding at the vet’s office.
Honey is now in an AABR foster home that reports she is simply a wonderful houseguest, Honey is obedient, house trained, crate trained (although she does not need it), and appears to be fine with cats. She is a sweet and affectionate girl who walks well on leash and enjoys car rides. She is doing her best to settle in and learn to trust again.
Honey is in generally good health. She just needs some supplements that any 8 year old dog should receive. Since Honey was a regular at doggy daycare, we are confident Honey can share her home with an equally nice dog.
It is truly difficult for us to imagine all this girl has gone through. Honey has not had an easy life and the last six months have been hard on her heart, but she is still so willing to give love and to please you. What Honey needs, for once in her life, is somebody who is looking for an amazing girl. She needs somebody who will take her and make up for the years she lost to a life she did not deserve. Honey needs a hero. In return, in addition to getting to share your life with a beautiful soul, you will be helping us show Honey that in the end, it was all worth it.
