Jacquelina lived her whole life outside in a dog house. She would be brought inside only on very cold nights and put in the basement. For years, she watched the family live their life without her, She could hear the sounds of a family, including laughter and conversations – but she could never be a part of it. Jacquelina watched for years from the yard, yearning to be inside and a part of the family. When Jacquelina’s owner passed away, she was forced to live in that dark, over cluttered basement. Her owner’s caretaker would stop by every few days to pour kibble on the basement floor and fill a dirty plastic bowl with water. The saddest part is that Jacquelina is starting to show early signs of degenerative myelopathy (DM). She is 8 yrs old and has never been a part of a family.
Jacquelina is now safe with us at Adopt a boxer Rescue. We have completely vetted her, bathed her, and showed her that she finally matters. Jacquelina dreams of being part of a family, wanted and loved. She is looking for a home of her very own to care for her in the twilight of her years. She has waited 8 very long years.
