Rolex, or Lexie as we always called her, was the first boxer my wife had. When I came into the picture, I was always told that Lexie was her number one girl and would forever be. Lexie and my wife had a special bond throughout her life. Lexie always had to come sit between us if we were on the couch and she would get into the middle of any hugs. She will never be replaced, but I hope that her name living on will allow another family to have memories of their Lexie to last a lifetime as we have of ours.

Lexie was found injured and was taken to the shelter by animal control. She was sent straight to the vet due to a fractured rear leg. Her leg was very swollen and full of infection. Lexie received IV medications, spent a week in the hospital, and was then transported to her foster home with AABR. Lexie is an extremely sweet girl, even in as much pain as she has been experiencing. Her foster mom indicates that Lexie is housebroken and has great manners. She was immediately evaluated by a surgeon and we learned that Lexie had been shot. We don’t know how long Lexie has suffered with the pain. When the surgeons tried to repair her fractures, they discovered the infection had already gone into the bone and therefore, amputation was the only option. ┬áHer surgery was successful and Lexie is now back with her foster family to recover. She is finally pain free and is adjusting very well without her damaged leg. We need your continued support to help with Lexie’s surgery costs. Her bill for the amputation was $3600. Please donate if you can help this beautiful girl on the road to recovery. Once she heals, Lexie will be ready to find a forever family.
