It is a new year and our beautiful girl, Oreo, is looking for a new lease on life. While she finished 2019 on a high note by escaping the streets of Turkey where she was homeless and starved, her wish for 2020 is a home she can call forever. Other than a slight awkwardness in her gait, Oreo is fully capable and able to compensate. We had Oreo evaluated by one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country and he feels she is pain free for now, but surgery may be needed in her future. The surgeon wants to give it time and wants Oreo to live a normal life while receiving good nutrition and care. Oreo will be arriving soon at her new foster home. She is bursting with happiness and is a pleasure to be around. Oreo can be placed with other dogs and children over 8 years. She should not go into a home with cats. Apply today if you are interested in giving this adorable boxer mix a forever home.
When Oreo was picked up off the streets in Turkey, she was in bad shape. Oreo was thin and had two deformed hind legs. After being flown to the United States, one of our rescue partners (Friends with Paws in Scranton, PA) took her into their facility. She has gained some much needed weight. Oreo has had two orthopedic consults and we all agree that she is pain free and able to get around without any problems. We are now looking for a foster or forever home for Oreo. She is dog friendly and a very sweet girl. Because we don’t have a history on her, kids over the age of 8 would be best.
Oreo is a young boxer mix from Turkey with knee injuries. A donor of ours offered to pay her way if AABR could help. Oreo is wonderful with other dogs. She has arrived in the United States and will be seeing one of our vets soon. This sweet girl now has a future.
