3/22/17 – MEMORIAL
Pearl had her surgery scheduled yesterday with a specialist. The surgeon discovered that the tumor was already wrapped around her kidney, intestines, and colon. The large tumor was beginning to cut off the blood supply to Pearl’s organs. Sadly, the tumor was inoperable and the recommendation was to let Pearl go before her organs began shutting down. Pearl is now pain free and at peace. We are thankful for the short time we had with this fun loving girl. We also appreciate the wonderful care given to Pearl by her foster mom, who showed her love and made her a cherished family member. Run free, sweet girl. Pearl will be missed by many.

Pearl is doing great in her foster home. She has completely settled in and gets along well with her foster siblings, both male & female boxers. She also enjoys the cats and has been caught grooming them on several occasions. Pearl loves to go for walks and while we are still working on some manners, she knows what it means to sit and wait for her treat – I think that’s her favorite part 🙂

Pearl is both house & crate trained, and she rides well in the car. She recently got to spend some time with a young, hyper Frenchie.  Pearl did great with her and seemed to enjoy her company. She loves to sleep in bed with her humans at night – Pearl curls up in a ball and doesn’t make a sound until the alarm clock goes off for breakfast.

Pearl will be seeing a specialist in two weeks.  Once she recovers, she will be looking for her forever family. If you think Pearl is the one that will make your family complete – get your application in. If nothing else, please consider making a donation to help cover some of her vet expenses.

Pearl was found as a stray in West Virginia. When she was taken to the vet to be spayed, the vet found a tumor. The X-ray showed that the tumor is about the size of a cantaloupe. The staff at the vet hospital indicate that Pearl is very sweet, but she obviously does not feel well. Pearl will be arriving at her foster home with AABR this weekend and she is scheduled to see our vet on Monday.  Please consider making a donation towards Pearl’s care. We will do everything possible to give this girl a chance at a loving home.
