Message for "Name a Dog" donation:
We lost our sweet River girl to acute AIHA this past year and would love to honor her by giving her name forward to another rescue (we were her third owners before she was three years old). She was the kindest, most loyal, loving boxer girl we had ever owned (my husband and I have been raised in dog families, but this was our first boxer)... Her name should be carried on.

River is a boxer girl estimated to be around 10 months of age. She was surrendered by her owners and was previously chained outside with only a flimsy box for shelter. River had prolapsed tissue that had become infected since she was living on wood shavings and dirt. She had an emergency spay after being pulled from her home and River has healed very well. With the help of a local rescue group, River and another boxer at this home, Brooke, were transported to Maryland and just arrived at their new foster homes.

River is settling in well and living with several children, two other dogs, and cats. She has a lot of energy and is very sweet with everyone she meets. Because of her age and lack of training, River wants to play with everyone and doesn’t know boundaries yet. She is still working on housebreaking. Her foster mom indicates River is very smart and responds quickly to training. She will need a home that has the time and experience to continue her training. Considering the conditions she previously lived in, River had already made a lot of progress.
