4/13/21 – Memorial
Trixie’s foster mom had to say goodbye to her yesterday. Her cancer had metastasized to her other organs. She was a special girl who left a huge impression on everyone she met. Rest In Peace, Trixie.
12/15/20 – Forever Foster
Trixie had surgery at the end of November to remove several mammary tumors. We sadly learned that one of the tumors was an aggressive, high grade carcinoma. A median survival time was given of three months with a high chance of metastasis. Because of this guarded prognosis, Trixie will be remaining in her current home as a Forever Foster. We will do everything we can to give her as much time as possible. Trixie is healing well from her surgery and is busy being spoiled by her foster mom.
Trixie was surrendered to rescue after having a litter of puppies that all passed away. Her owner could no longer take care of Trixie. When she arrived at the vet, Trixie was emaciated, loaded with fleas, Lyme positive, and anemic. Trixie has been in foster for a month now and she has already gained 10 lbs. Her foster mom indicates that Trixie is a sweet and wonderful girl. She has the best kidney bean dance and Trixie loves people. We are not sure of an exact age, but are estimating Trixie to be around 8-10 yrs old. She just visited the vet a few days ago and we are waiting for results of updated bloodwork. Trixie will then need some mammary tumors removed and a dental completed. The estimate for her upcoming surgery is $1200, but that could change depending upon the extent of the dental that will need completed. Please consider contributing to Trixie’s medical care. She has not had an easy life prior to rescue, but Trixie will be loved and well cared for from this point forward.
